International Twelve Metre Class Association President, Wm. H. Dyer Jones has recently received a correspondence from New York Yacht Club Rear Commodore, William P. Ketcham.
The letter, dated June 30, 2016 contains an invitation, excerpt below:
“A centerpiece of our 175th Anniversary will be a spectacular NYYC regatta week in July of 2019. We are committed to including yacht clubs and fleets which have occupied very special places in our unique history. The global 12 metre fleet has the potential to add an important dimension to our 2019 event given our Club’s long and illustrious relationship with 12mR competition at the highest level. We look forward to working with you and the ITMA to make this a reality.
Toward that end, please accept our invitation to the ITMA to host the 12mR Class World Championship as part of the NYYC 175th Anniversary Regatta, scheduled for July 13-20 mid-July, 2019, at Harbour Court in Newport, Rhode Island.”
