America II (US-42) competed in the Spirit Division of the 2019 12mR World Championship, racing against her sister-12, America II (US-46). Both teams were comprised of members of the Manhattan Yacht Club. In the series of 9 match races, US-42 narrowly took first place over US-46 by just one point (15-16).

2015- present
Owned by the New York Harbor Sailing Foundation. After a 2-year restoration, US-42 joined her sister ship America II, US-46 match racing in New York Harbor.

Sold to Philip Charles Freedman of San Diego, CA (USA),  she was chartered by Pelle Peterson who raced her at the 1988 World Championship under the name Geronimo.
